Interchromatin Granule Clusters (IGCs)
IGC Interchromatin granule clusters (IGCs) are one of the largest nonchromatin structures of the nucleoplasm.  They are identified based upon the clustering of ribonucleoprotein particles to dominate a region of the nucleoplasm.  Chromatin has not been identified within IGCs.  Hence, IGCs are also evident because of their exclusion of chromatin fibers.  Clicking on the image links to a web photo gallery of images of interchromatin granule clusters.
