Interchromatin Granule Clusters (IGCs)
Interchromatin granule clusters (IGCs) are one of the largest nonchromatin structures of the nucleoplasm. They are identified based upon the clustering of ribonucleoprotein particles to dominate a region of the nucleoplasm. Chromatin has not been identified within IGCs. Hence, IGCs are also evident because of their exclusion of chromatin fibers. Clicking on the image links to a web photo gallery of images of interchromatin granule clusters.
